Karhu’s latest release of its Legend collection draws inspiration from the sport we admire most: the “Track & Field” pack. “In the 60s and 70s, when I was training and racing in Finland,” says Karhu Chairman, Franco Arese, “I learned the tracks had a unique colour compared to other countries, they were black! However, these tracks were really good for racing.”
A passion for track and field and the different competition surfaces around the world influences the colour assortment and material selection in this concept. For the second release of the Track & Field Pack, Karhu uses athletics as the thematic backdrop for the two colour ways.
The suede heel on the first colour way is reminiscent of a track’s reddish brown rubber, which provides runners a consistent surface for fast times. The perfectly manicured grass infield where javelins and discuses land, inspired the green suede on the front of the shoe.
The second Fusion 2.0 colour way features a blue suede heel and front palette to celebrate newer stadium constructions like the one in Berlin, where championship athletic events are hosted.
The Karhu Legend “Track & Field” pack 2 will release globally on Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at select dealers worldwide, online and at the Karhu Concept store in Helsinki.
