That historic route became the inspiration behind The Post Line, a collaboration between KARHU Running and London's Progress Running Club.
To celebrate the launch of the PRC × KARHU Running Capsule Collection, eight runners from the KARHU and Progress Running Club communities set out to retrace the historic route as a relay, beginning at the New York City Post Office and finishing at the iconic Boston Marathon finish line.
Over two days, the team shared far more than kilometres. Early mornings, long drives between relay exchanges, conversations over coffee, shared snacks and countless laughs quickly became just as memorable as the running itself.
As one runner reflected afterwards, "At some point, it stopped being only about running the route"
For many of the runners, simply running between New York and Boston had been on their bucket list for years.
Following the Post Line gave the route an entirely different meaning, combining the history of the road with the experience of moving through it on foot.
Rather than chasing personal bests, the relay was about sharing the journey.
Every runner took responsibility for a different section of the route, passing the experience from one teammate to the next while travelling through historic towns, quiet back roads and the green landscapes of New England.
That feeling was shared throughout the group. Runners from different countries came together with one common purpose, creating an experience built on teamwork, encouragement and a shared appreciation for movement.
By the time the team reached Boston, the finish line felt less like the end of a relay and more like the conclusion of a journey experienced together.
The relay was more than a celebration of a new collection. It brought the story behind the PRC × KARHU Running Capsule Collection to life.
Inspired by the historic Post Line and the connection between New York and Boston, the collection reflects the same spirit of movement, community and shared experience that defined every mile of the journey.
